The Head of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP), Dudung Abdurrachman, has denied claims that President Prabowo Subianto’s planned visit to Italy has faced rejection. He explained that Prabowo maintains excellent bilateral relations with various world leaders and that there has never been a rejection from any destination country during his overseas visits.

“I do not believe there is any such thing as being rejected; our President has very good bilateral relations and is very well-received by several foreign nations,” Dudung stated at the DPR Building, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday, 3 June 2026.

Furthermore, Dudung noted that every one of Prabowo’s overseas visits is planned well in advance, ensuring no sudden or unannounced trips occur. “When the President visits these countries, it has been planned a week beforehand; it is not as if it is decided at the last minute, ‘Oh, let’s go here,’ which would be impossible,” he added.

Previously, the Head of the Government Communications Agency, Muhammad Qodari, explained that there were no plans for Prabowo to visit Italy immediately following his trip to France. He noted that the Palace has only officially communicated the President’s visit to France, not to Italy. “If there is a plan to visit another destination during a trip, it remains merely a plan until an official announcement is made by the government,” Qodari said during a press conference at Wisma Danantara, Jakarta, on Sunday, 31 May 2026.
