Dudung Abdurachman ready to serve as bridge between society and government
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The newly appointed Presidential Chief of Staff, retired General TNI Dudung Abdurachman, has expressed his readiness to support the success of President Prabowo Subianto’s priority programmes and to serve as a bridge that receives and conveys public grievances to the government. In a statement to journalists after the inauguration at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday, Dudung stated that one of his duties as head of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) is to ensure that President Prabowo’s flagship programmes are implemented thoroughly and swiftly. “Furthermore, as KSP, I will naturally act as a connector between the public and the government. Thus, any grievances will be open for reports from the public 24 hours a day,” said Presidential Chief of Staff Dudung. In addition, his office will evaluate and monitor programmes of ministries/institutions and collaborate with ministries/institutions as well as regional governments. This is to ensure that presidential priority programmes are not hindered by bureaucratic issues at either the central or regional government levels. “We will streamline the bureaucracy,” he said. On that occasion, he also requested support from ministries/institutions and the public in general to ensure the success of those programmes. “If there are any presidential government priority programmes that are not running as they should, we will conduct inspections and resolve them properly,” Dudung stated. Previously, the former Army Chief of Staff was officially inaugurated to lead the KSP in a ceremony at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday. He replaces Muhammad Qodari, who now serves as Head of the Government Communication Agency (Bakom). In addition to Dudung and Qodari, today’s event also saw the inauguration of Mohammad Jumhur Hidayat as Minister of Environment/Head of the Environmental Control Agency, Hanif Faisol Nurofiq as Deputy Coordinating Minister for Food, and Abdul Kadir Karding as Head of the Indonesian Quarantine Agency.
