Jakarta - The Head of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP), General (Ret.) TNI Dudung Abdurachman, has revealed that the SPPG or kitchen for the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme, which he inspected in West Jakarta, has now been suspended, meaning its operations have been halted.

“I inspected the SPPG yesterday, yes, the kitchen around Grogol and Petamburan. In my view, it was indeed not up to standard, and it was immediately responded to by the Head of BGN, so it was suspended right away as I saw,” Dudung said at the Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday (13/5/2026).

At the MBG kitchen in question, Dudung found numerous maggots and rubbish that had not been collected despite being there for a week.

He reminded the foundation owning the MBG kitchen not to merely seek profit from the programme.

Dudung will continue his inspections to MBG kitchens in West Java and Central Java.

“This is what I inspected, and I will check several regions. I heard that in Central Java and West Java, there are issues with the processes, from determining locations to food preparation, delivery, and so on, which do not meet standards,” he explained.

“BGN has made every effort to the maximum as I see it, but in the field, there are many discrepancies, and BGN has also made many improvements,” Dudung added.

According to Dudung, foundations wishing to invest in the MBG programme must consider the nation’s progress.

“Our children are pitiful. Just recently, there was another poisoning incident, and things like this, I will continuously address them together with BGN to tackle anything that is not good,” he remarked.

Dudung Abdurachman found numerous maggots and rubbish at two SPPG or MBG programme kitchens in Kebon Jeruk and Petamburan, West Jakarta.

Dudung requested that the MBG kitchens be immediately closed if they do not make improvements.

Because if left unchecked, it will certainly lead to poisoning cases affecting MBG recipient children in the future.

“Yes, I suggested to MBG and BGN to close it immediately. Look at the maggots everywhere. This is very close; if not given time soon. If it cannot be fixed, it should be closed soon, that’s what I conveyed,” Dudung said, quoted from the Kompas TV YouTube broadcast on Tuesday (12/5/2026).

“Because if not evaluated immediately and left like this, the rubbish has been here for a week, imagine. Now I’m calling the RT, don’t take it lightly. Later, if poisoning occurs, children become victims. This is what we don’t want,” he continued.

Dudung emphasised that the two kitchens he inspected this morning are not fit for operation.

He asked the foundation head to immediately convert the kitchen to meet the set standards.

“The wastewater treatment (IPAL) also does not meet requirements. Then some washing areas, the room is so hot, the dry kitchen, dry storage, wet warehouse with dry warehouse all in one with one AC. And washing of vegetables and meat must be separated, not combined,” he stressed.
