Du Pont joins Branta

JAKARTA (JP): The United States' Du Pont de Nemours plans to
buy 19.91 percent of PT Branta Mulia's listed shares, or 44.8
million shares, from the latter's main shareholders.

Tire cord producer Branta Mulia said Du Pont had agreed to buy
the shares at US$1.45 each.

Du Pont will also establish a strategic alliance with Branta
Mulia to vertically extend business activities and broaden its
international reach. (rid)
