DTKJ Proposes Six New Groups for Free TransJakarta Rides, Pramono Anung Responds
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung is currently reviewing a proposal from the Jakarta City Transport Council (DTKJ) to add six new community groups to the list of those eligible for free TransJakarta rides. The policy is planned to coincide with a new fare adjustment for TransJakarta and TransJabodetabek services.
Pramono explained that his administration is conducting final calculations to determine which groups deserve additional subsidies. This step is being taken to mitigate the impact of any potential changes to ticket prices. "If there is a price adjustment later, then certain groups will certainly be affected. So, we are calculating which groups we might provide additional support to, beyond the 15 we have already decided on," Pramono stated in Central Jakarta on Thursday (9/7).
DTKJ Chairman Sugihardjo revealed that the proposal to expand the recipients of the Free Service Card (KLG) will be included in a revision of Gubernatorial Regulation (Pergub) Number 33 of 2025. The target groups are vulnerable populations, low-income residents, and citizens with high mobility. The six proposed groups include companions of persons with disabilities and online motorcycle taxi drivers. Pramono confirmed that an official decision regarding the addition of these groups will be announced soon. "Whether it becomes an additional six groups and so on, it will be decided shortly," he concluded.
