D'Tik Fest 2026 Involves 18 Waste Management Communities with a Budget of IDR 458 Million
The 238th anniversary celebrations of Denpasar City will be enlivened by the Denpasar Information and Communication Technology (D’Tik) Festival 2026. In its implementation, the committee is collaborating with the Eling-Eling Pertiwi waste management community to ensure waste management during the three-day event.
The Coordinator of Eling-Eling Pertiwi, Anak Agung Ngurah Srijaya Widiada, said that they are optimistic that they can manage waste at the D’Tik Festival as they did during the previous Denpasar Festival.
“In the previous Denfest, 75,000 people generated waste, and we managed to create zero waste at the landfill. If 75,000 people can do it, now 5,000 at D’Tik will be easy,” said the Coordinator of Eling-Eling Pertiwi, Anak Agung, at the Press Conference for the Peak of the 238th Anniversary of Denpasar City and the D’Tik Festival 2026 at the Dharma Negara Alaya (DNA) Building, Thursday, February 26, 2026.
Eling-Eling Pertiwi, which is a combination of 18 waste-conscious communities, plans to implement a similar strategy as in the 18th Denpasar Festival. Agung explained that the waste management system will implement two Waste Departments for the information and command center and six stations for sorting seven categories of waste.
“The Waste Department will manage the waste management strategy, the information and command center will also be located in Youth Park to the east, and there will be four stations in Taman Lumintang and two in DNA,” explained Agung.
For organic waste management, they are preparing 15 modern compost bins in Taman Lumintang. With this step, organic waste is targeted to not leave the Taman Lumintang and DNA areas.
In addition, inorganic waste management is carried out in collaboration with the Denpasar City Environment and Sanitation Office (DLHK), which involves several waste banks. Eling-Eling Pertiwi also opened registration for volunteers, totaling 196 people. The volunteers come from communities, related departments, MSME actors, to students who are members of school organizations such as OSIS and Scouts.
“We are quite confident with 100 volunteers. But as of this afternoon, we have 196 volunteers. There are 3-4 schools that have called, and I told them to come directly. So there may be 250, approaching 300, who will monitor waste management at the D’Tik Fest,” said Agung.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Communication, Information, and Statistics Office of Denpasar City, Gde Wirakusuma Wahyudi, said that the involvement of students is a means of educating about waste management from an early age.
“It can help with education in households, how the waste sorting model at the festival can be applied in households. With this educational spirit, it is hoped that more people in Denpasar City can manage their waste from the source,” he explained.
Previously, based on the Community Satisfaction Survey presented in the Waste Management Coordination Meeting with the Denpasar Waste Management Team, it was recorded that about 30 percent of the people of Denpasar City have sorted their waste.
The Mayor of Denpasar, I Gusti Ngurah Jaya Negara, in the meeting, said that this achievement is a good first step. “This is actually a good step. We will motivate the 30% who have the potential to be prioritized to get modern compost bins because they are the ones who can manage it well,” said Jaya Negara in the meeting.
