The Danantara Technology Innovation Investment Forum (DTIIF) 2026 officially ended after three days at Fairmont Jakarta on Wednesday (28 October). Attended by more than 3,000 participants, the forum produced a number of strategic partnerships in research, energy, digital infrastructure and transport, including electric vehicles.

Sigit Puji Santosa, Danantara Indonesia’s Chief Technology Officer and chair of DTIIF 2026, said the agreements signed at the forum were an initial step towards advancing collaboration to the implementation stage.

In his closing speech, Sigit also linked the collaborative spirit of DTIIF 2026 to Youth Pledge Day, which fell on the final day of the forum.

“In 1928, young people from diverse backgrounds came together with a shared spirit and aspirations to build Indonesia’s future. Almost a century later, that spirit of unity, collaboration and determination remains relevant. Danantara Indonesia therefore wants to carry forward the spirit of the Youth Pledge by bringing together different ideas, expertise and resources to work together to realise a more advanced future for Indonesia,” Sigit said in a statement on Friday (30 October 2026).

From Forum to Strategic Agreements

Over the three days, Danantara Indonesia established various partnerships with technology providers, companies, universities, research institutions and state-owned enterprise (SOE) ecosystems, both nationally and internationally.

On the first day, Danantara Indonesia signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry, and the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN).

The partnership aims to strengthen national coordination by linking research agendas, talent development, industry needs, funding mechanisms and strategic investment opportunities.

The collaboration is expected to accelerate the application and commercialisation of research and innovation, strengthen the technological capabilities of industry, and enhance national competitiveness as Indonesia moves towards a knowledge- and technology-based economy.

Danantara Indonesia also signed an MoU with BRIN and 32 universities to establish a partnership platform connecting research, academia and industry. The agreement is intended to bring research findings closer to business needs so they can be developed into practical solutions that support Indonesia’s growth and competitiveness.

In the health sector, the Danantara Development Management Fund (DDMF), Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Indofarma and PT EBM Saintifik dan Teknologi agreed to develop kratom-based phytopharmaceuticals. The partnership opens up opportunities to commercialise health research.

DDMF is also exploring collaboration with Thermo Fisher Scientific on life-sciences technologies to strengthen Indonesia’s research capabilities and health industry. Other agreements were reached within the SOE sector, particularly in areas considered important to the development of future industries.

Digital infrastructure

Telkom Indonesia and PLN are working to align data-centre development plans with electricity supply readiness. The collaboration is intended to ensure that expanding data-centre capacity is backed by adequate energy supplies. Through coordinated, phased planning, data-centre development and electricity provision are expected to progress in step.

Electric vehicles

LEN, PLN and Pertamina Patra Niaga are strengthening the National Electric Motorcycle (Molinas) ecosystem. The collaboration covers a range of areas, from infrastructure and energy to the deployment of electric vehicles.

Renewable energy

Pertamina New & Renewable Energy and Agrinas Palma signed a Heads of Agreement on plans to build and operate a fatty acid methyl ester (FAME)-based biodiesel production facility in Indragiri Hilir, Riau. The partnership is expected to strengthen downstream biofuel capacity while supporting national energy security.

In addition to these three sectors, partnerships were formed in maritime and steel industries, cybersecurity and post-quantum cryptography, biotechnology, and robotics. The cross-sector agreements broaden opportunities to develop and deploy technology across a range of industries.

Three days in numbers

DTIIF 2026 featured a total of 274 speakers and moderators across seven Distinguished Lectures, 21 plenary sessions, and 38 panel and pitching/showcase sessions, which brought together SOEs, young researchers and technology-based start-ups.

Two Distinguished Lectures featured Nobel laureates in economics Peter Howitt and Thomas J. Sargent. They discussed technology-based economic growth and artificial intelligence (AI) as an accelerator.

Meanwhile, sectoral and collaboration panels explored technology development opportunities in six strategic sectors: energy; telecommunications and digital infrastructure; agriculture, food and health; advanced materials and semiconductors; finance and banking; and transport and infrastructure.

DTIIF 2026’s programme was organised around three stages: Imagine, Advance and Build.

“These three stages—from frontier technology and technological progress to sustainable industry—are our topics, objectives and focus at Danantara,” Sigit said.

Following the forum, Danantara Indonesia will oversee the agreements through to implementation. The aim is to ensure that the partnerships do not end with signatures, but lead to practical efforts to strengthen technological capabilities, industrial competitiveness and sustainable economic growth in Indonesia.

Danantara Indonesia’s next partnership and investment agenda will continue with the inaugural New Asia Forum (NAF), to be held in Bali on 3–4 December 2026. The forum will extend Danantara Indonesia’s partnership and investment agenda across Asia.
