DTI-CX Serves as Platform to Realise Digital Connectivity for a Sovereign Indonesia
Industry players and government representatives are using the Digital Transformation Indonesia Conference & Expo (DTI-CX 2026) as a platform to realise a commitment to delivering digital connectivity that can create a sovereign Indonesia.
This is in line with the theme ‘Digital Connectivity for a Sovereign Indonesia’, which aims to strengthen the commitment of the digital connectivity ecosystem to build inclusive digital infrastructure and encourage the use of technology as a foundation for national independence and competitiveness.
‘We need technology that is innovative, secure, and responsible. All of this investment should serve a single purpose. The presence of the DTI Series 2026 is to ensure that this technology not only connects Indonesia, but also protects their rights and strengthens the future,’ said Edwin Hidayat Abdullah, Director General of Digital Ecosystem at the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Kemkomdigi), in a statement received in Jakarta on Thursday.
DTI-CX 2026, taking place from 5–6 August 2026 at the Jakarta International Convention Center in Central Jakarta, also features DCTI-CX (Data Center Tech Indonesia), DTI-HR (Human Resource Transformation), and CRD-CX (Cyber Resilience & Defense).
All of these forums have come together to discuss the developments and challenges of Indonesia’s digital transformation, addressing not only physical digital infrastructure but also artificial intelligence (AI), cyber security, and human resource transformation to create competitiveness in the technology sector.
As a representative of an organisation, Mastel Chairman Sarwoto Atmosutarno said Indonesia must be able to build a digital ecosystem that not only develops technologically but also holds strategic value for national sovereignty.
Therefore, digital connectivity needs to be strengthened, given its role as one of the fundamental elements in realising national digital transformation and creating a healthy digital ecosystem.
‘Indonesia must leap immediately to 5G, Indonesia must leap immediately to quantum cryptography, and Indonesia must also leap to non-terrestrial network satellites,’ said Sarwoto, citing various infrastructures that form the basis for inclusive digital connectivity.
Theodorus Wintoko, Executive Chairman of the 81st Post and Telecommunications Service Day (Hari Bhakti Postel) 2026, said the presence of DTI-CX 2026 is proof that all stakeholders within Indonesia’s digital ecosystem share the same aspiration of supporting the advancement of the telecommunications industry in Indonesia.
From the industry side, they continue to strive to deliver innovation and share knowledge to strengthen digital connectivity, while from the government side, they continue to try to accommodate the needs of the public as well as provide space for industry players to innovate.
‘The opportunity for improvement for industry players is enormous, and we cannot detach ourselves from competitiveness at both the regional and global levels,’ said Theodorus Wintoko.
