Jakarta (ANTARA) – PT Donggi Senoro LNG (DSLNG) has reaffirmed its commitment to improving energy-use efficiency through innovation and optimisation of its facilities.

“DSLNG continues to work to maintain operational reliability while improving energy-use efficiency through innovation and optimisation of its facilities,” DSLNG Operations Director Adi Kustanto said in a statement received in Jakarta on Sunday.

Kustanto made the statement after DSLNG received the 2026 Subroto Energy Award from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) in the Best Technology Innovation category.

The award recognised DSLNG’s successful use of system engineering and the reuse of boil-off gas (BOG) to improve gas-use efficiency and reduce emissions from its LNG plant operations.

The innovation helped DSLNG reduce total flaring by 49 per cent, exceeding its target of a 40 per cent reduction.

The achievement demonstrates the company’s success in making use of gas that might otherwise have been burned through the flare system, while supporting emissions reduction and improved operational efficiency.

“This achievement was delivered without building new facilities,” he said.

He explained that by relying on system engineering and optimising existing infrastructure, DSLNG had created economic value while improving the efficiency with which energy resources are used.

The approach shows that technological innovation can deliver tangible benefits by improving the performance of existing assets, without always requiring investment in additional facilities.

Kustanto accepted the award at the 2026 Subroto Energy Award ceremony held in Jakarta on Friday (23 October).

Kustanto praised all DSLNG personnel for developing and implementing a technological solution that delivered operational, economic and environmental benefits at the same time.

At the event, Deputy Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Yuliot said Indonesia’s energy transformation was on the right track towards achieving national energy sovereignty, increasing domestic added value, creating jobs and improving public welfare.

Innovations that improve gas-use efficiency and reduce emissions are one way the energy industry can contribute to more optimal and sustainable resource management.
