Dry Season: Bulog Ensures Rice Stocks in Bangka Belitung Secure for Next 3 Months
Rice stocks in the Bulog Bangka warehouse are believed to be sufficient to meet the needs of the Bangka Belitung (Babel) community for the next three months. The Head of Perum Bulog Bangka, Dimas Wage Tantri, stated that both medium and premium rice stocks in the Bulog warehouse are guaranteed to be adequate for the upcoming period.
“Our warehouse stock stands at 4,000 tonnes, a quantity we believe is sufficient to meet Babel’s rice requirements for the next three months,” said Dimas on Sunday (2/8). Consequently, he urged the public not to worry about rice shortages amidst the current dry season.
“While the dry season has caused many paddy fields to dry up, this does not affect the current rice stocks held by Bulog,” he added. He noted that in addition to external supplies, Bangka Belitung’s stocks are bolstered by local supplies from Rias Village in South Bangka. “Although the volume is not large, we have absorbed rice from Rias Village, which will increase the stocks in our warehouse.”
In addition to rice, he confirmed that cooking oil stocks are also secure, with approximately 79 tonnes currently in the warehouse, ensuring that ‘Minyakita’ supplies remain stable for the next few months. He concluded by requesting that the community remain calm regarding food security, specifically concerning rice, during this dry season.
