Drunk Female Driver of Fatal Outlander Shocked When She Realised Her Behaviour
EN (32), the driver of a Mitsubishi Outlander involved in a multi-vehicle collision that killed one person in Surabaya, has been named a suspect and taken into custody. She said she panicked and feared being attacked by a mob after earlier clipping a taxi.
The admission was made by EN at the Satpas Colombo traffic unit of Surabaya Police. The suspect said she did not realise that her decision to flee would end up harming someone fatally.
“That was it — because I was scared after clipping the taxi and being chased by a mob. I was afraid I would be attacked, so I tried to get away, but it turned into an accident that killed someone,” the suspect said, as reported by detikJatim on Monday (24/8/2026).
The suspect also acknowledged that she had been angry and resisted at the time of the incident. However, she claimed she was not aware of her own behaviour.
“Because I was not conscious of it either. I was shocked at my own behaviour. So I am ashamed,” she said.
According to the suspect, before the accident she had attended a party and consumed alcohol. She claimed she did not drink much, but could not remember exactly how many glasses she had.
“A party. From the party venue. No, about seven glasses, a quarter of a glass,” she said.
