Drug traffickers arrested
YOGYAKARTA: Police have raided a drug syndicate and arrested nine people, including six college students, in a drug bust dubbed Operation Purple.
Deputy chief of Yogyakarta police, Maj. Anton Tabah, said yesterday that two of the suspects were recognized as long-time marijuana traffickers in town.
The suspects are aged between 21 and 27 years, he said. Six of them, including a woman, are students of a well-known college. They obtained the drugs from Medan and distributed them among students among others, according to Anton.
During the raid, police confiscated two kilograms of ganja, two weapons, a car and three motorcycles from the suspects.(sim)
