Drug Trafficker Linked to Koh Iwan Network Arrested by Bareskrim While Travelling by Bus

The Narcotics Crime Directorate of the Indonesian National Police (Bareskrim Polri) has uncovered a methamphetamine distribution network operating between Jakarta and Surabaya. Police arrested one suspect, identified as 46-year-old Abdul Muid, also known as Dul.

“The arrest of the suspect, Abdul Muid alias Dul, took place at Rest Area 338A of the Pekalongan Toll Road, Karangdadap District, Pekalongan Regency, Central Java,” stated Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, Director of Narcotics Crimes at Bareskrim Polri, in a written statement on Friday (31/07/2026).

Eko noted that Dul was apprehended during the early hours of Saturday (25/07) while travelling on a bus bound for Surabaya. Police seized several pieces of evidence from the suspect.

“The arrest occurred inside a Sinar Jaya bus on the Pulogebang-Surabaya route,” he explained.

Officers recovered approximately 100 grams of methamphetamine from Dul, along with two mobile phones. The seized items include one black backpack and one plastic bag suspected to contain 100 grams of Class I narcotics (methamphetamine).

Following an interrogation, police revealed that Dul obtained the drugs from a known narcotics recidivist, Iwan Sebastian, also known as Koh Iwan. The two individuals previously served time together at the Cipinang Narcotics Prison between 2019 and 2025.

Police have charged Dul as a suspect for his alleged role as an intermediary in the drug trade. He faces the possibility of life imprisonment under Article 114, paragraph (2) of Law Number 35 of 2023 concerning Narcotics, in conjunction with the Indonesian Criminal Code.
