Police’s Criminal Investigation Directorate (Bareskrim Polri) stated that fugitive drug trafficker Koh Erwin attempted to flee and resisted officers during his arrest in Tanjung Balai, North Sumatra.

Head of the Subdirectorate of Narcotics Crimes, Bareskrim Polri Commissioner Handik Zusen told reporters on Friday (27 February) that officers were forced to take measured action to incapacitate the suspect.

“There was an attempt to escape and resistance during the arrest,” he said.

According to monitoring by CNNIndonesia.com at Bareskrim Polri headquarters, Koh Erwin arrived at approximately 11:35 WIB. The drug trafficker, wearing a grey shirt, was seen being assisted by two officers as he was brought out of the vehicle.

Subsequently, the drug trafficker who had been paying money to former Bima City Police Chief AKBP Didik Putra Kuncoro was immediately taken by officers for intensive interrogation.

During Koh Erwin’s arrest, Bareskrim also secured two other individuals identified as A alias G and R alias K, both suspected of assisting in Koh Erwin’s escape plan.

Earlier, Bareskrim Polri had designated former Bima City Police Chief AKBP Didik Putra as a suspect in drug abuse. Didik was found guilty of possessing a white suitcase containing narcotics that he had left with Aipda Dianita in Tangerang, Banten.

The narcotics evidence found consisted of methamphetamine weighing 16.3 grammes, 49 ecstasy tablets and 2 residual tablets (23.5 grammes), 19 Aprazolam tablets, 2 Happy Five tablets, and 5 grammes of ketamine.

Didik also tested positive for narcotics consumption in a hair follicle drug test conducted at a laboratory.

Additionally, Didik was designated as a suspect in receiving proceeds from narcotics crimes by the North Nusa Tenggara Regional Police on Monday (16 February). Didik allegedly received narcotics proceeds from trafficker Koh Erwin totalling 2.8 billion rupiah through his subordinate AKP Malaungi, who served as the Narcotics Head of the Bima City Police. The money was received by Didik between June and November 2025.

Didik has been dismissed from the police force without honour and is currently detained at Bareskrim Polri prison.
