Tangerang — The Head of the NIC Task Force, Ditrespidum Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Kevin Leleury, revealed that the arrest of suspected major drug trafficker Erwin (alias Koko Erwin) involved some resistance from the suspect.

“There was some resistance, but it was minor and manageable,” stated Leleury in Tangerang, Banten, on Friday.

Koko Erwin, who allegedly supplied money and drugs to former Bima Police Chief AKBP Didik Putra Kuncoro, was successfully arrested in the Tanjung Balai area, North Sumatra, whilst attempting to cross to Malaysia on Thursday (26 February).

During the arrest operation, police also apprehended two other suspected accomplices, identified as A (alias Y) and R (alias K).

“The suspect (Koko Erwin) was arrested whilst preparing to cross using a boat headed to Malaysia,” Leleury stated.

He noted that the two other individuals were found to have assisted Erwin in fleeing to Malaysia to evade police capture.

“Suspect A (alias Y) was arrested in Riau, whilst R (alias K) was arrested in Tanjung Balai alongside Erwin,” Leleury said.

Based on examination results, the primary suspect had planned to flee overseas after learning of his status as a fugitive wanted by police (DPO).

Leleury confirmed that Koko Erwin is a major methamphetamine trafficker in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) and is suspected of supplying money and drugs to Kuncoro.

“Further details regarding the connections will likely be explained during a press conference,” he concluded.
