Drug Test Results Released! Taufik Hidayat's Confession About YTR Shocks Investigators

The case of alleged confinement and abuse committed by Taufik Hidayat (30) against his girlfriend, YTR (29), has entered a new phase following the suspect’s arrest by the police. Initial examination results have confirmed that the suspect tested negative for narcotics. However, Taufik admitted that he frequently committed acts of violence while under the influence of alcohol.

This confirmation was delivered by the West Java Police Chief, Inspector General Rudi Setiawan, after investigators conducted a series of health checks, including a drug test on the suspect following his arrest. “We also conducted a drug test. The results have just come out and they are negative,” Rudi stated on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.

These results dispel the suspicion that the suspect’s brutal actions were triggered by drug use. Nevertheless, investigators are still probing other factors that may have led to the alleged torture suffered by the victim over the years.

During questioning, Taufik admitted to all of his actions before investigators. He even expressed remorse for what he had done to YTR. According to his confession, the violent acts often occurred when he lost control after consuming alcoholic beverages. “He stated that he regretted it, because it was done under impaired consciousness due to alcohol consumption,” Rudi said.

Investigators then dug deeper into the suspect’s habits prior to the alleged abuse. Based on the preliminary examination, Taufik admitted to regularly consuming a specific type of alcoholic beverage before committing violence against the victim. “Intisari, that’s the drink. A hard liquor, yes. A brand of hard liquor called Intisari. It’s a type of black wine,” he explained.

Despite admitting to being under the influence of alcohol, this confession does not automatically halt the ongoing legal process. The police are still investigating the motive, the pattern of violence, and the complete chronology of the alleged confinement and abuse suffered by the victim while under the suspect’s control.

In addition to the drug test, investigators also confirmed that Taufik Hidayat is in good health, ensuring that the investigation process can proceed without hindrance. “The conclusion is that the suspect is healthy and ready to be detained and undergo initial examination,” he said.
