Drug Suspect in Ciledug Flees, Hits Motorcycles, Ends Up Surrounded by Mob

A mob surrounded a Toyota Fortuner in Puri Beta, Ciledug, Tangerang City, in an incident that went viral on social media. The driver targeted by the furious crowd was a drug suspect who had fled from a police raid.

During the incident, the suspect was beaten by the mob. He was later evacuated to Sari Asih Hospital in Tangerang for medical treatment.

“Ciledug Police officers together with ambulance personnel took the suspected perpetrator to Sari Asih Hospital for medical treatment,” said Tangerang City Metro Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Raden Muhammad Jauhari, in a statement on Saturday (13/6/2026).

Senior Commissioner Raden Muhammad Jauhari explained the circumstances that led to the Fortuner being surrounded by the mob. The incident occurred on Friday evening, 12 June 2026.

“The incident began when members of the South Jakarta Police Narcotics Unit, led by First Inspector Erwin Manatar Sirait, arrested four drug suspects at the scene on Jalan Al Mubarok II Blok T 2 RT.02 / 08, Joglo Kembangan, West Jakarta,” Jauhari said.

During the raid, one of the suspects who was in a Fortuner with registration number B-2432-VBE fled in the vehicle.

“Five members of the South Jakarta Police Narcotics Unit pursued the suspect from the arrest scene,” he stated.

During the chase, the suspect hit several vehicles. The Fortuner eventually stopped after crashing into a pavement.

“The suspect stopped because he hit a pavement on Jalan Puribeta 2, having previously struck several other motorcyclists,” he added.

Residents who had joined the pursuit then surrounded the suspect. Ultimately, the suspect was beaten by the mob.

“The crowd, aware of the situation, smashed the car windows and beat the suspect,” he said.
