PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero), or Pelindo, in cooperation with the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), has held drug prevention education under the title “Sobat ANANDA BERSINAR: Merdeka Tanpa Narkoba” (ANANDA BERSINAR Friends: Independent Without Drugs). The programme, aimed at strengthening the resilience of the younger generation, reached 900 students from nine schools in Jakarta, Surabaya, Medan, and Makassar.

In Jakarta, the socialisation activity took place at SMAN 18 North Jakarta, which is located in Pelindo’s ring 1 operational area in Tanjung Priok. Through this agenda, students were provided with an in-depth understanding of the dangers of narcotics abuse and how to build a positive social environment.

Pelindo’s Group Head of Corporate Sustainability, Usman Saroni, explained that the company’s concern is not only focused on the smooth operation of ports, but also on improving the quality of life of the surrounding communities.

“Safeguarding the port is not only about operational security, but also ensuring that the young generation around it is protected from the threat of drugs. Through collaboration with BNN, we are taking preventive steps directly to schools to build awareness from an early age,” said Usman in Jakarta on Thursday (27/8/2026).

On the same occasion, the Director of Advocacy of BNN RI, Tatiek Sufahriani, stressed the importance of fortifying adolescents from the influence of these illicit substances to ensure the sustainability of the nation’s future.

“Building a generation that is healthy, productive, and able to protect itself from negative influences is a very important investment for Indonesia’s future,” said Tatiek.

The Head of SMAN 18 Jakarta, Mutmainah, also welcomed the interactive socialisation and expressed hope that this kind of education can shape students’ character to be drug-free, responsible, and confident.
