Drug Package Hidden in Muffler: Cambodian Network Dealer Arrested in Denpasar
The Bali Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNNP) has apprehended a man suspected of dealing four types of narcotics on the island. The suspect, with the initials GAS alias Boing, was secured at his residence on Jalan Taman Pancing, Denpasar, on Friday (31 July 2026).
The suspect, believed to be involved in a Cambodia-based network, was arrested shortly after he was found receiving a package hidden inside a used exhaust pipe.
“The eradication team succeeded in securing a young man with the initials GAS alias Boing at his residence,” said the head of BNNP Bali, Brigadier General Putu Putera Sadana, on Wednesday (5 August 2026).
The package had already raised suspicions when the Bali Nusra Directorate General of Customs flagged a consignment addressed to Denpasar. BNNP Bali then monitored the package until it reached the hands of the suspect.
During a search conducted before witnessing members of the public, officers found two types of narcotics inside the package hidden in the used motorcycle exhaust pipe. The package contained evidence suspected to be etomidate in the form of 19 vape cartridges, along with 11.12 grams net of cannabis.
The search continued with an inspection of the suspect’s rented room. Officers found two further types of narcotics there: 64.5 ecstasy pills and three sachets of viscous liquid suspected to be the drug known as happy water.
Officers also examined the man’s mobile phone, which revealed that the suspect was being directed by a man named Sungap living in Cambodia.
“The suspect admitted he was ordered by Sungap to collect a package containing drugs sent by one of Sungap’s friends,” Putera added.
GAS was instructed by Sungap to collect the package sent by ‘Bang Gogon’ from Medan. GAS himself said he did not know this Bang Gogon.
GAS and the evidence have now been taken to the BNNP Bali office for examination and further investigation by detectives.
