A raid by National Narcotics Agency (BNN) officers in Kampung Bahari, North Jakarta, met with resistance from a drug network. Officers were pelted with firecrackers, prompting them to respond with tear gas.

In video footage obtained by detikcom, BNN and Mobile Brigade (Brimob) personnel can be seen standing guard. They are in full uniform, wearing bulletproof vests and helmets.

The drug network fought back by firing firecrackers and firecrackers at the officers. Officers responded with tear gas fire.

On the other hand, officers also maintained a guard on the roads leading to Kampung Bahari. A number of vehicles attempting to pass were asked to turn back due to the resistance from the drug network.

Director of Interdiction and Pursuit at BNN, Brigadier General Roy Hardy Siahaan, said the enforcement effort met with resistance from loyalists of a drug lord with the initials MR. The raid was carried out today, Thursday (13/8/2026), since dawn.

“Initially we arrested the boss around Kampung Bahari, then we brought him inside for further development,” Roy said when contacted by detikcom on Thursday (13/8/2026).

Officers then brought MR to Kampung Bahari to show the place where he stored drugs. However, as officers were about to enter, MR’s loyalists attacked them.

“But then there was resistance from them, our members were shot at with firecrackers. We then blocked and anticipated them, we beat them back,” he said.

Officers managed to secure a number of people suspected of being part of the drug network in the raid. Several items of evidence were also secured.
