Officers from the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) and the police raided a drug dealer in Kampung Bahari, North Jakarta. The drug lord and several of his loyalists were arrested in the raid.

“MR, the drug lord, was arrested as he left his hideout; he was also caught around Kampung Bahari,” said BNN Director of Enforcement and Pursuit, Brigadier General Roy Hardy Siahaan, when contacted by detikcom on Thursday (13/8/2026).

The suspect with the initials MR was arrested on Thursday (13/8) morning after officers carried out surveillance. During the arrest, officers seized a quantity of narcotics evidence.

BNN officers then took MR into Kampung Bahari to develop the case. MR was asked to show where the drugs were stored.

However, the effort met resistance from a number of people believed to be MR’s loyalists. They attacked officers by throwing stones and firecrackers.

“But then there was resistance from them; officers were shot at with firecrackers. We then blocked and anticipated them, and we beat them back,” he said.

A police officer was reported injured as a result of the resistance from the drug network. Officers managed to repel the drug lord’s loyalists with tear gas.

In the raid, officers secured a number of suspects and evidence. The suspects and evidence were held at the North Jakarta BNN office.

From photo documents obtained by detikcom, three people had been detained. The three were sitting cross-legged with both hands handcuffed.

Drug Lord’s Loyalists Fight Back

In video footage obtained by detikcom, BNN and Brimob personnel were seen standing guard. They were in full uniform with bulletproof vests and helmets.

The drug network fought back by shooting at officers using firecrackers and fireworks. Officers responded with tear gas.

On the other hand, officers also guarded the roads leading to Kampung Bahari. A number of vehicles attempting to pass were asked to turn back because of the resistance from the drug network.
