Drug Kingpin 'E' Hunted in Case Involving Former Bima Police Chief AKBP Didik Putra Kuncoro
Jakarta, VIVA – The Indonesian National Police (Polri) is hunting a drug network kingpin identified by the initial E, suspected of being the supplier in a case involving the suspended Bima City Police Chief, AKBP Didik Putra Kuncoro (DPK).
“Based on examination results thus far, the evidence found in AKBP DPK’s possession was obtained from suspect AKP ML (Malaungi), who sourced it from a network figure with the initial E,” said Polri’s Public Relations Division Chief, Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir, in Jakarta on Sunday evening.
According to him, the network is being investigated by the Polri Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) together with the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police Narcotics Directorate.
He affirmed Polri’s commitment to uncovering the drug network linked to the kingpin known as E. “The full profile of the kingpin with the initial E is already available. A pursuit and arrest operation is currently under way,” he explained.
He also called for public support. “We ask for the support and prayers of the entire public as part of our commitment to waging a total war against illicit drug trafficking and abuse that endangers Indonesia’s younger generation,” he said.
The Bareskrim Narcotics Crime Directorate announced on Friday, 13 February, that AKBP Didik had been named a suspect in an alleged drug possession case. The case originated from the arrest of two domestic helpers employed by police suspect Bripka IR and his wife, AN, who were found with 30.415 grammes of methamphetamine at their private residence.
Interrogation by the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police Narcotics Directorate revealed the involvement of AKP Malaungi (ML) in the network. Subsequent examination by the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police Professional and Security Division found AKP ML tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine. A search of AKP ML’s office and official residence then uncovered five packets of methamphetamine weighing 488.496 grammes.
“Based on AKP ML’s testimony, AKBP DPK was implicated in the suspected narcotics abuse,” said Johnny.
A joint team from Polri’s Internal Affairs Inspector Bureau and the Bareskrim Narcotics Crime Directorate subsequently searched AKBP DPK’s private residence in Tangerang on Wednesday, 11 February. Investigators found 16.3 grammes of methamphetamine, 50 ecstasy tablets, 19 alprazolam tablets, 2 happy five tablets, and 5 grammes of ketamine at the location.
