Jakarta - A suspected methamphetamine distributor in Jalan Pedongkelan, Kapuk, Cengkareng, West Jakarta, faces a minimum five-year prison sentence.

The Chief of Criminal Investigation at Grogol Petamburan Police Station, AKP Alexander Tengbunan, confirmed on Monday that the suspect, identified as FK, aged 38, has been charged under Article 609 paragraph (2) of Law No. 1 of 2026 on Criminal Penalty Adjustment and Article 114 paragraph (2) of Law No. 35 of 2009 on Narcotics.

The suspect was found to have stored crystal methamphetamine weighing more than 37 grams in total at his residence in Kapuk. According to Alexander, officers received information regarding the suspect’s drug distribution activities in the area.

On Tuesday (24 February), officers proceeded to the location and successfully apprehended FK upon arrival. During a search of his residence, police discovered six packets of crystal methamphetamine with a gross weight of 31.39 grams stored in a bag. Additionally, officers found nineteen packets of methamphetamine, each wrapped in small transparent clip-lock plastic packaging, with a total gross weight of 3.57 grams, and two further packages weighing 2.24 grams stored in a white plastic box.

According to FK’s statement, the narcotics evidence was sourced from a supplier named Domi, who is listed as a wanted suspect. The drugs were supplied at 800,000 rupiah per gram. The total amount owed to the supplier was 32 million rupiah, of which some of the drugs had already been sold for 2 million rupiah and the proceeds had been remitted to the supplier.

Police continue to interrogate FK for further investigation.
