Drug Dealer in Bekasi Arrested, Meth Disguised as Bird Feed
The Directorate of Drug Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police has arrested a drug dealer with the initials DS (26) in the Bekasi area, West Java. The suspect’s modus operandi was to store 38.25 grams of methamphetamine in bird feed packaging. “Our Unit 1 Sub-Directorate 3 of the Metro Jaya Police Drug Investigation successfully thwarted the circulation of methamphetamine in the Bintara area, Bekasi, on Tuesday, 30 June 2026, by securing the suspected perpetrator with the initials DS,” said Unit 1 Head of Sub-Directorate 3 of the Metro Jaya Police Drug Investigation, Ipda I Nengah Suprata, in a statement on Wednesday (8/7/2026). The case came to light after police received information from residents about narcotics transaction activities in Bintara, West Bekasi. The Opsnal Team of Unit 1 Sub-Directorate 3 of the Metro Jaya Police Drug Investigation conducted an investigation and surveillance. “DS was arrested while allegedly about to conduct a transaction,” he revealed. DS was arrested on Tuesday (30/6) in Bintara, Bekasi. Police then discovered five packages of methamphetamine disguised to resemble bird feed packaging. “Police found five packages of methamphetamine weighing 27.32 grams disguised in paper bags resembling bird feed packaging,” he explained. The investigation was extended to a rented house in the West Bekasi area suspected of being used as a narcotics storage site. During the search, police found two more plastic clips containing methamphetamine with a gross weight of 10.93 grams. “(Also) one digital scale, three empty plastic clips, tape, and a smoking device. Thus, the total evidence of methamphetamine secured reached a gross weight of 38.25 grams,” he stated. The suspect and the evidence have been taken to the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters for further investigation.
