Drug Dealer Arrested Whilst Waiting for Buyers in Mataram Lane
Police at Mataram City Police Resort (Polresta) arrested a methamphetamine dealer with the initials SH in the Punia district of Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). The 35-year-old man was apprehended whilst waiting for customers in an alley.
“At the time, the individual was standing in front of an alley near his residence. The perpetrator was waiting for buyers,” said Narcotics Section Chief of Mataram Police Resort, Senior Police Officer I Gusti Ngurah Bagus Suputra, on Wednesday (25 February 2026).
SH was arrested around 01.30 Wita. During a search, police discovered approximately 18 packets of methamphetamine ready for distribution inside SH’s black sling bag.
“There were about 18 packets. Each packet is sold for 300,000 rupiah. There was one bundle we found that hadn’t been divided yet, containing roughly 5 grams,” added Suputra.
Police seized 16.99 grams of methamphetamine from SH’s possession. Additionally, police secured several pieces of evidence including a mobile phone, ATM card, two bundles of empty clip plastic bags, and cash totalling 2.3 million rupiah.
“We suspect that money is the result of drug transactions,” stated Suputra.
Police also searched SH’s residence located not far from the arrest location. There, officers discovered seven bundles of empty clip plastic bags, a mobile phone, and plastic pipettes with sharpened tips.
“The perpetrator and evidence have been secured at Mataram Police Resort,” he said.
Police are conducting a thorough investigation of SH, including tracing the origin of the methamphetamine in his possession. “Given the substantial evidence, he is unlikely to be a novice. Our suspicion is that he has been selling methamphetamine for quite some time, based on the evidence found,” he concluded.
