Drug dealer arrested in Bali

DENPASAR, Bali: Police arrested a suspected drug dealer here on Tuesday, seizing 0.5 kilograms of marijuana found in the man's possession.

Bali Police Narcotics Division chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Wayan Suwena said that 26-year-old Darwin Baringbing, alias Darwin Tampubolon, was arrested at around 1 a.m. by undercover police officers claiming to be buyers.

He was waiting for potential buyers in a dark corner of Jl. Bagus Teruna, in Bali's prime tourism area of Kuta, when two undercover detectives approached him and asked for drugs.

"We arrested him when he showed some samples of the contraband," Suwena said.

The officers searched him and found two packages of dried marijuana, each weighing around 200 grams. The officers then searched his rented room on Jl. Sahadewa where they found another 300 grams of dried marijuana in a plastic bag.

"He said he got the marijuana from somebody called Romy in Jakarta," Suwena said. (zen)
