Drug Courier Genda Arrested in Connection with Ko Erwin Drug Trafficking Syndicate
JAKARTA – The Directorate of Narcotics Crime (Dittipidnarkoba) of the Indonesian National Police’s Criminal Investigation Division arrested Akhsan Al-Fadhil, known as Genda, a drug courier for narcotics kingpin Ko Erwin, in Pekanbaru, Riau.
Genda was arrested at a food stall in Pekanbaru at 22:00 WIB on Tuesday (24 February 2026). He had worked with Erwin to distribute approximately 1 kilogramme of methamphetamine.
According to Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, Director of Narcotics Crime at the Criminal Investigation Division, the arrest followed IT analysis and surveillance that revealed Genda was attempting to flee to the Pekanbaru area. “Based on the results of IT analysis and tracking of the target’s whereabouts, information was obtained that the individual in question was attempting to escape to the Pekanbaru area, Riau Province,” Santoso stated in a written statement on Sunday (1 March 2026).
The arrest stemmed from Ko Erwin’s confession that he did not operate alone in distributing narcotics but worked in cooperation with Genda. Genda’s role was to distribute methamphetamine in the Bima area of West Nusa Tenggara.
During interrogation, Genda admitted to working with Ko Erwin to distribute 500 grammes and 1 kilogramme of methamphetamine in Bima. “The drugs were obtained from someone known as Boss Aceh and were subsequently distributed in the Bima area of West Nusa Tenggara,” he stated.
When they arrived at the Marina Inn Hotel in Bima city at approximately 20:00 WITA, Genda brought 500 grammes of methamphetamine to room 415 for re-weighing, and the substance was then stored in the hotel room. The methamphetamine was subsequently collected by the Head of the Narcotics Unit of Bima City Police, First Inspector Maulangi.
Meanwhile, 1 kilogramme of methamphetamine was collected by an individual named Awan (a fugitive), who first obtained the keys to a black Toyota Raize vehicle with registration number B 2262 PRG from room 415. “Because the methamphetamine was stored in the vehicle inside a black bag, after which Awan (the fugitive) transported the narcotics using a motorcycle,” according to the statement.
Genda and the evidence were secured by the Sub-directorate IV team of the Narcotics Crime Directorate and the National Intelligence Agency’s task force and brought to the office for further questioning regarding the narcotics distribution network.
Seized evidence included 500 grammes of methamphetamine, three photocopies of Genda’s identity card, two photocopies of Erwin Iskandar’s identity card, one Lotte Member card, one BPJS insurance card, two mobile phones, cash totalling IDR 2,360,000, four boarding passes, three ATM cards, and one vehicle rental receipt.
Previously, the Directorate of Narcotics Crime arrested Ko Erwin (Erwin Iskandar), a fugitive in a narcotics case. Erwin Iskandar is a suspected narcotics kingpin who allegedly transferred IDR 2.8 billion to the former Police Chief of Bima City, Senior Commissioner Didik Putra Kuncoro.
