Drug Courier for Ko Erwin Syndicate Arrested at Food Stall in Pekanbaru
Following the apprehension of drug kingpin Ko Erwin in Nusa Tenggara Barat, the Indonesian National Police’s Criminal Investigation Directorate (Bareskrim Polri) conducted a series of investigations. The effort resulted in the successful arrest of Akhsan Al-Fadhil, alias Genda, a courier for Ko Erwin’s narcotics syndicate.
“The courier, who is part of Erwin Iskandar’s syndicate, has been apprehended,” stated Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, Director of the Narcotics Crime Division of Bareskrim Polri, in his statement on Sunday (1 March 2026).
The arrest stemmed from Ko Erwin’s confession. It emerged that Ko Erwin had not acted alone in his drug trafficking operations, but had worked in collaboration with an associate named Genda.
Genda played an active role in the distribution of crystal methamphetamine in the Bima region. Police subsequently launched a manhunt for Genda.
“Based on IT analysis and tracking of the target’s whereabouts, we obtained information that the individual was attempting to flee towards Pekanbaru in Riau Province,” stated Hadi.
Police located Genda at a food stall in Pekanbaru. At precisely 22:00 on Tuesday (24 February), Genda was apprehended.
Upon interrogation, Genda confessed to working with Ko Erwin in the distribution of narcotics. “Genda and Ko Erwin had transported crystal methamphetamine totalling 500 grams and 1 kilogram, obtained from someone known as Bos Aceh, which was subsequently distributed in the Bima region of Nusa Tenggara Barat,” he added.
The methamphetamine was transported from Jakarta to Bima via overland route using Ko Erwin’s vehicle. Upon arrival at a hotel in Bima, 500 grams of methamphetamine was brought by Genda to room 415 for reweighing, after which the substance was stored in the hotel room.
“Subsequently, the 500 grams of methamphetamine was retrieved by Senior Police Officer (AKP) Maulangi, who served as the head of the narcotics unit at Bima City Police District. Meanwhile, the 1 kilogram of methamphetamine was collected by an individual named AWAN (a wanted fugitive) who first retrieved the keys to a black vehicle bearing registration number B 2262 PRG from room 415, as the methamphetamine was stored inside the vehicle in a black bag. AWAN then transported the narcotics using a motorcycle,” Hadi explained.
Genda and evidentiary materials were secured by the Subdirectorate IV team of the Narcotics Crime Division of Bareskrim Polri alongside the National Narcotics Agency Task Force. The seized evidence included 500 grams of methamphetamine, three photocopies of Genda’s identity card, two photocopies of Erwin Iskandar’s identity card, one Lotte membership card, one BPJS health insurance card, two mobile phones, cash totalling 2,360,000 rupiah, four boarding passes, three ATM cards, and one vehicle rental receipt.
Previously, Ko Erwin was arrested on Thursday (26 February 2026). Ko Erwin’s arrest is linked to a case involving former Bima District Police Chief Senior Commissioner (AKBP) Didik Putra Kuncoro and former Narcotics Unit Head at Bima City Police District Senior Police Officer (AKP) Malaungi.
Ko Erwin is alleged to have given 1 billion rupiah to AKBP Didik to enable methamphetamine distribution. The money was transferred by Ko Erwin to an account controlled by Malaungi.
