Drowned Korean flown home
INDONESIA: The body of Yun Vae Young, 27, a citizen of South
Korea who drowned in the waters off Depapre district in Jayapura,
was flown home on Friday, Antara reported on Saturday.
Police here confirmed that the body had been flown by Merpati
aircraft to Jakarta, before it was flown to Seoul.
No autopsy was done on the body as friends of the deceased,
all from South Korea, submitted a signed objection to a planned
autopsy, a police spokesman said.
Yun and his friends were swimming at Amai Beach, some 80
kilometers north of Jayapura.
Police assistant commissioner RD Woru said the police had
since closed the beach indefinitely. There have been frequent
casualties there, particularly on holidays when the beach is
packed, the agency reported. -- Antara
