Drought Hits Ciseeng, Bogor, Leaving 1,570 Residents Struggling for Clean Water
A drought has struck Cibeteung Muara Village in Ciseeng District, Bogor, West Java, as declining rainfall has diminished water sources. M Adam Hamdani, Head of Emergency and Logistics at the Bogor Regency Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), stated on Friday that the reduced rainfall has caused water sources to dwindle, making it difficult for residents to meet their daily clean water needs. He noted that three neighbourhood units in Kampung Cimeong have been affected, with a total of 1,570 residents struggling to access clean water. The breakdown includes 958 people in RT 01 RW 02, 237 people in RT 02 RW 02, and 375 people in RT 03 RW 02. Residents reported the situation to BPBD officers, who subsequently distributed 5,000 litres of clean water overnight as a temporary measure. Adam added that the area has not seen rain for several weeks, causing residents’ wells and water sources to dry up and leaving them unable to fulfil their daily clean water requirements.
