Driving Quality Growth, Profitability Increases
PT MSIG Life Insurance Indonesia Tbk recorded a net profit of Rp181 billion in the first semester of 2026, an increase of 69% compared to the same period in the previous year. This performance was supported by the growth of renewal premiums and an increase in the Contractual Service Margin (CSM).
CSM, which reflects future profits from ongoing insurance contracts and is recognised gradually over the period of coverage, grew by 8% year-on-year to Rp913 billion. Meanwhile, MSIG Life’s renewal premiums reached Rp1 trillion, representing a 27% growth compared to the first semester of 202<0xE2><0x80><0x89>5. The Annualised Premium Equivalent (APE) for new business premiums was recorded at Rp691 billion.
Director & Chief Strategic Distribution, Government & Partnership Officer of MSIG Life, Herman Sulistyo, stated that these achievements demonstrate that the company’s strategy to drive quality business growth is beginning to yield results.
“The first half of 2026 performance shows that we are on the right track in driving quality business growth. This achievement is formed by disciplined cost management, strengthening operational productivity, and increasing customer satisfaction,” said Herman.
The company’s performance was also supported by a strong capital position. MSIG Life’s equity was recorded at Rp8.2 trillion. This figure is well above the highest minimum requirement for insurance companies based on Financial Services Authority (OJK) Regulation Number 23 of 2023, which is Rp1 trillion to be met by 31 December 2028 at the latest.
Director & Chief Operating & IT Officer of MSIG Life, Elly Susanti, stated that the company will continue to strengthen its business through distribution optimisation, technology investment, and product development.
“We continue to focus on expansion and the optimisation of multi-channel distribution, investment in digital and AI, as well as product innovation to meet increasingly diverse customer needs,” said Elly. According to her, these strategies are aimed at strengthening the company’s position while creating long-term value for customers, shareholders, and business partners.
On another note, MSIG Life is expanding its Sharia insurance business through PT MSIG Sharia Life Insurance Indonesia. This entity obtained a business licence from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) on 22 July 2026 and began operating as a separate entity on 3 August 2026.
