JAKARTA – Driving licence (SIM) holders whose permits expired on 1 June 2026, coinciding with the national Pancasila Day holiday, still have the opportunity to renew their licences on 2 June 2026 (Tuesday), as all SIM services in Jakarta are closed during the Pancasila Day commemoration.

The opportunity was granted by the Traffic Directorate of the Jakarta Metro Police, as all SIM services in the Jakarta Special Capital Region were suspended for the Pancasila Day holiday.

“For SIM holders whose licence validity expires on 1 June 2026, renewal can be carried out on 2 June 2026 using the standard renewal procedure,” stated the Traffic Directorate of the Jakarta Metro Police through its official X account @TMCPoldaMetro.

They can still renew their SIM as usual by taking advantage of services resuming today. However, the Traffic Directorate cautioned that this opportunity should not be missed. If renewal is not completed on this day, SIM holders with licences expiring on 1 June 2026 will be subject to the new SIM issuance procedure in accordance with applicable regulations.

As services reopen following the public holiday, the Jakarta Metro Police is also operating mobile SIM units at five locations across Jakarta from 08:00 to 14:00 WIB.

The mobile SIM units only service renewals for Class A and Class C licences that remain valid. To renew, applicants must prepare an original identity card (KTP) and a photocopy, the old SIM with a photocopy, proof of health examination, and proof of psychological assessment.

Applicants must also submit certificates from health and psychological examinations as part of administrative requirements.

Renewal fees for SIM comply with Government Regulation No. 60 of 2016 on Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP), set at Rp80,000 for Class A and Rp75,000 for Class C licences.

However, Class B licence renewal cannot be processed through mobile SIM units. Class B licence holders must renew at the SIM Administration Service Unit (Satpas) offices due to differences in document purpose and service requirements.
