Drivers: Free Health Checks at Pulo Gebang Terminal Very Beneficial
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Several bus drivers working during the Eid al-Fitr 2026 homecoming and return flow have described the Free Health Check service at the Pulo Gebang Integrated Terminal (TTPG), East Jakarta, as highly beneficial for maintaining physical endurance.
One driver from Sinar Jaya bus company, Triyandi Sigit, stated that he was greatly assisted by the services provided by the East Jakarta Health Sub-District Office (Sudinkes) during the Eid homecoming period.
“I was given free medicine and learned about my body’s condition, so it’s good for preventing obstacles during work,” he said when interviewed by ANTARA in the TTPG departure waiting room on Thursday night.
The driver with the route to Solo city admitted to undergoing several checks, such as blood pressure, sugar, uric acid, and cholesterol.
“The results are quite good, some are still at the normal threshold but need to be controlled with medication,” said Triyandi, who was declared fit to drive by the medical staff.
A similar statement was made by Lamhot Situmorang, who said that the free health check service made it easier for him to check his physical condition.
Furthermore, he mentioned that he often faced constraints in terms of time or opportunity to check his current health condition. Additionally, it required spending money if not using BPJS Kesehatan.
“It’s excellent, so no need to bother going to the community health centre or hospital; before departing, I can get checked first and also receive medicine,” he said.
Staff from the East Jakarta Health Sub-District Office’s Health Services, doctor Ario Akbar, stated that the health service was in collaboration with the East Jakarta Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) and has been conducted since 13 March and will continue until 30 March.
The service covers free checks for blood sugar, blood pressure, and cholesterol.
Meanwhile, the Pulo Gebang Integrated Terminal (TTPG), East Jakarta, is one of the largest bus terminals in Jakarta. The public transportation facility is managed by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Transportation Agency (Dishub).
