Driver Who Crashed into Jusuf Kalla's Fence in South Jakarta Requests Mediation
A female driver with the initials HP (35) crashed into the residence of Indonesia’s 10th and 12th Vice President, Jusuf Kalla, in the Dharmawangsa area of South Jakarta. Police said the driver has requested mediation.
“The plan is for mediation to take place to repair the damage there,” said South Jakarta Metropolitan Police public relations section chief Inspector Murodih to reporters on Wednesday (18/2/2026).
Murodih explained that the incident occurred at approximately 03:45 local time. He said the driver of the Hyundai Santa Fe was suspected of having fallen asleep at the wheel.
“That is correct — we received information about the incident involving the crashing into the fence of the residence. The driver was probably drowsy, causing her to lose control. The information we have is that mediation is planned to repair the damage there,” he said.
Nevertheless, Murodih said his team would continue to conduct a thorough investigation to determine the precise cause of the accident. The incident resulted in damage to the fence of Kalla’s residence.
“It appears there are no indications of intoxication. However, we are still looking into it,” he concluded.
