Driver from Probolinggo, Who Had an Accident in Jembrana, Found to be Carrying Crystal Meth
A driver from Probolinggo, East Java, with the initials ADH (30), experienced misfortune. Intending to survive an accident, ADH ended up in jail after being caught carrying crystal meth during his evacuation by officers.
This incident was revealed when the Jembrana Police released the results of their drug eradication operation during the period from January to February 2026. The Chief of Police of Jembrana, AKBP Kadek Citra Dewi Suparwati, stated that ADH was initially recorded as a victim of an accident on the Denpasar-Gilimanuk route.
The incident began on Wednesday (January 21, 2026) in the Mendoyo sub-district. At that time, ADH’s Daihatsu Luxio car broke through an area where a tree had fallen, causing an accident. However, when he was taken to the I Mendoyo Public Health Center for treatment, ADH’s behavior raised suspicion.
“Officers became suspicious because ADH kept holding his shoulder bag and was visibly nervous. After being searched by the operational team, four packets of crystal meth, a digital scale, and a smoking device (bong) were found,” said Citra during a press conference on Wednesday (February 25, 2026).
ADH confessed to the police that he was only a courier. He was promised a payment of IDR 400,000 to deliver the illicit goods from Probolinggo to Denpasar. “The suspect admitted that he received the goods from someone in Probolinggo to be delivered to a customer in Denpasar,” Citra added.
Eight Drug Offenders Arrested
The arrest of ADH is just one part of uncovering drug trafficking at the beginning of 2026. In total, the police arrested eight suspects from six different cases, with a total of 11.25 grams of crystal meth seized.
“We have secured eight suspects from various backgrounds, including private employees, students, drivers, and fishermen,” said Citra.
In addition to ADH, the police also apprehended two young men from Denpasar, DJW (22) and RFC (23), at a traffic light on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Batuagung Village, Jembrana District. Both were found carrying crystal meth hidden in a cigarette box after picking up the drugs at a temple in the Pendem area.
The officers also arrested IR (31) in Lelateng Village, as well as two fishermen with the initials H (43) and DA (40) in Pengambengan Village. At the house of suspect H, the police even found a ‘mini laboratory’ used to package the crystal meth.
Currently, two cases have been transferred to the Jembrana District Attorney’s Office, while four others are still under intensive investigation. The suspects are charged with Article 114 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, as well as Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.
“The penalties are severe, ranging from life imprisonment to a maximum of 20 years in prison,” Citra emphasized.
The police appealed to the public to be more vigilant and to report suspicious activities through the Call Center 110. “We ask the public to be brave and say no to drugs,” Citra said.
