Driver Falls Asleep, Dump Truck Crashes into Road Barrier on Kuningan Flyover

A dump truck was involved in a single-vehicle accident on Jalan Gatot Subroto, South Jakarta. The accident is believed to have occurred because the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The accident occurred when a dump truck with license plate number H-8199-OW, driven by S (35), was travelling from east to west. At around 01:00 WIB, while passing through Jalan Gatot Subroto, just before the Kuningan Flyover, the truck suddenly lost control.

“Based on the driver’s statement to officers at the scene, he was in a state of reduced concentration due to drowsiness,” said Head of the Law Enforcement Sub-Directorate of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Traffic Directorate, AKBP Ojo Ruslani, on Thursday (26/2/2026).

This caused the vehicle to swerve and hit a road barrier and a signpost at the location. Police confirmed that there were no fatalities or injuries as a result of the incident.

“There were no casualties, only material losses. The dump truck suffered a broken windshield and the front part was severely damaged,” he said.

The 5th Traffic Accident Unit, led by AKP Istamar Udin, conducted a crime scene investigation, secured evidence, and examined witnesses at the scene for further investigation.

“Officers have conducted a crime scene investigation and secured the driver for questioning. The vehicle evidence has also been evacuated to prevent disruption to traffic flow in the Kuningan area in the morning,” he concluded.
