Driver and Assistant of Fuel Truck Killed in Collision with ALS Bus are Relatives of the Musi Rawas Utara Regent

The accident occurred on the Trans-Sumatra Highway (Jalinsum) in the Musi Rawas Utara area, South Sumatra, on Wednesday (6/5) around 12:00 WIB. Devi revealed that the two accident victims were Aryanto (49) and Martono (48).

“We, the district government, continue to conduct data collection and assist in contacting the victims’ families and the nearest ALS representatives, as well as providing the best services to the accident victims,” she stated.

Regarding the accident, Devi said that her side, together with the police, has repeatedly reminded Trans-Sumatra bus drivers not to drive at high speeds while passing through the Musi Rawas Utara area.

She explained that the pothole-ridden road conditions often trigger accidents because drivers reflexively avoid the holes, potentially veering into ditches or colliding with other vehicles.

“We have already installed speed and caution warnings. The Musi Rawas Utara Police Resort has also taken action to patch the road, but not all can be patched because there are still many small potholes,” said Devi.
