Perumda Air Minum Jaya plans to provide facilities or services for ready-to-drink water along Jalan Sudirman-Thamrin in Jakarta.

“There is a PAM programme from Sudirman-Thamrin, we will create something like dispenser kiosks. The public just needs to bring a bottle or tumbler,” said Prasetyo Edi Marsudi, Chairman of the PAM Jaya Supervisory Board, during a podcast themed “Harmony of Productivity and Public Services for Regional-Owned Enterprises in DKI Jakarta: PAM Jaya” in Jakarta on Monday.

Prasetyo stated that this programme is still in the planning stage and will be implemented after PAM Jaya’s piped water services have achieved a 100% target.

“After achieving 100% connections (piped water services), we will make a breakthrough by creating a packaged water product without plastic. It will be available at all corners in Jakarta,” he said.

PAM Jaya has introduced a water purifier innovation, which is considered a strategic solution in providing safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly drinking water, thereby minimising plastic waste.

Data from the Regional-Owned Enterprises Development Agency (BP BUMD) in April shows that the implementation of water purifier installations for public facilities has reached 601 units, an increase of 80 units during the January-March 2026 period. One of the locations with this facility is Jakarta City Hall.

Meanwhile, as of March 2026, PAM Jaya’s clean piped water services have reached 81.45%, or about 18% short of the 100% target in 2029.

This figure has increased significantly by 13.82% compared to the first quarter of 2025, which was 71.59%.

There has also been an increase in the number of connections, which reached 1,223,759 in the first quarter of 2026, an increase of 241,537 connections compared to the first quarter of 2025, which was only 982,222 connections.

Meanwhile, the total length of PAM water pipes up to the first quarter of 2026 reached 12,839,307 kilometres (km), an increase of 4,096 km compared to the end of December 2025.
