Lombok Tengah, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) – The Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA) is preparing a drift kart programme as one of the automotive leisure activities that visitors and tourists can enjoy at the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

“This facility uses go-karts that have been specially modified to make drifting manoeuvres easier, so visitors can feel the sliding sensation more easily and enjoy it, even for beginners,” said Pribadi Satria, Chief Executive Officer of Mandalika Grand Prix Association, in Lombok Tengah on Thursday.

He said on weekdays, Drift Kart operates in the back paddock area with a layout designed specifically for drifting manoeuvres.

Meanwhile on weekends, the activity is available in the Turn 10 area alongside the late-afternoon Lampaq session. The moment is a favourite because visitors can try drift kart while enjoying the circuit ambience and Mandalika’s characteristic sunset panorama.

He wants every visit to Mandalika Circuit to provide a different experience. Drift kart is one of the activities that the community, as well as tourists, can enjoy to experience automotive sensations directly in a safe and enjoyable atmosphere.

MGPA Motorsport Manager Denny Pribadi explained that drift kart is indeed designed as an activity that emphasises entertainment while still providing a basic drifting technique experience.

This drift kart is set up to be easier for sliding, so visitors do not need prior drifting experience. The concept is fun, relaxed, but still gives an idea of what it feels like to control a vehicle when oversteering.

“So for now it’s about having fun first, while learning basic control,” he said.
