JOHANNESBURG (AFP): South African gold producer Durban Roodepoort Deep Ltd (DRD) has acquired 69 percent of Dome Resources NL (Dome) in Indonesia and has extended its offer period, it announced on Thursday.
Dome is listed on the Australian stock market.
"DRD today announced that on April 11, 2000, it gained control of Dome and is now entitled to 69 percent of the company," DRD said in a statement.
"In light of this, DRD has decided to extend the offer period for one month in order to allow the remaining Dome shareholders to accept."
DRD announced an offer for all of the fully-paid ordinary shares in Dome in January. The offer was initially scheduled to close on April 13.
The South African company is the world's 12th-largest gold producer and is listed on the Johannesburg, London, Paris and Brussels stock exchanges.
