Most of the drama stories that are shown on television concern
urban life. The stories usually depict lives of well-off families
which are unfamiliar with people who live in the countryside and
have to struggle hard for their survival.

Rarely do the drama roles adopt the lives of the common people
as the theme of their productions. By showing cosmopolitan life-
styles with all its glamor will only widen the social gap between
the rich and the poor. In this context I would like to appeal to
producers to include the lives of the common people in the
stories meant for TV serials.
