Dr Tifa's First Trial Set for 2 July, Roy Suryo Awaits Pretrial Ruling
The trial for the defamation case concerning the alleged fake diploma of Indonesia’s 7th President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), with Roy Suryo as a defendant, will be held at the East Jakarta District Court (PN Jaktim). Roy’s first hearing is still awaiting the decision on a pretrial motion he filed at the South Jakarta District Court (PN Jaksel).
“For the first session of the Roy Suryo case, it has not yet been set by the panel of judges because it is still waiting for the relevant pretrial application at PN Jaksel,” said PN Jaktim public relations officer Immanuel Tarigan to reporters on Wednesday (24/6/2026).
Meanwhile, Immanuel stated that the first trial for Dr Tifauzia Tyassuma will be held on Thursday (2/7). The session is scheduled to commence at 09.00 WIB. “For the Tifauzia Tyassuma case, the first hearing is on Thursday, 2 July 2026, at 09.00 WIB, in the main courtroom of Prof Kusuma Atmadja at PN Jaktim,” he said.
Roy’s case is registered under number 300/Pid.sus/2026/PN Jkt Tim, while Dr Tifa’s case is registered under number 301/Pid.Sus/2026/PN Jkt Tim. Both cases will be presided over by chief judge Christina Endarwati, with members Rudi Rafli Siregar and Mathilda Chrystina Katarina.
For information, Roy’s pretrial lawsuit regarding the search and arrest was filed on Monday (22/6) with case registration number 99/Pid.Pra/2026/PN JKT.SEL. The first defendant in this pretrial is the Government of the Republic of Indonesia cq the Metro Jaya Regional Police Chief cq the Director of General Criminal Investigation of Metro Jaya Police cq the Head of Sub-Directorate for State Security cq the Investigation Team, and the second defendant is the Government of the Republic of Indonesia cq the Attorney General cq the Deputy Attorney General for General Crimes at the Attorney General’s Office cq the Head of the High Prosecutor’s Office for DKI Jakarta.
The petition for this pretrial motion has not yet been displayed. The first hearing for Roy’s pretrial lawsuit will be held on Monday (29/6), adjudicated by sole judge I Ketut Darpawan.
Meanwhile, Dr Tifa did not file a pretrial motion. This was confirmed by South Jakarta District Court public relations officer Halida Rahardhini. “As of today, there is no registration in the SIPP of PN South Jakarta for her (Dr Tifa) filing a pretrial motion,” said Halida when confirmed on Wednesday (24/6).
Metro Jaya Police Response
The Metro Jaya Regional Police responded regarding Roy Suryo’s pretrial lawsuit concerning the search and arrest filed at the South Jakarta District Court. The Legal Division of Metro Jaya Police stated that it has not yet received a summons letter regarding the first hearing of the pretrial lawsuit. “We have not received the letter yet,” said Head of the Legal Division of Metro Jaya Police, Commissioner Abrianto Pardede, as reported by Antara on Wednesday (24/6). Nevertheless, Metro Jaya Police stated it is ready to follow the course of the legal process. “Once we have the letter of authority, we will certainly attend,” said Abrianto.
