Tifauziah Tyassuma, known as Doctor Tifa, the defendant in the case concerning allegations that the seventh President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, held a fake diploma, has welcomed the interim ruling by the panel of judges at the East Jakarta District Court, which granted her objection, known as an exception.

Tifa viewed the judges’ interim ruling as inseparable from her own efforts and those of her colleagues to fight for justice and uphold the truth.

“For that reason, we express our deepest gratitude for everything that has been done, so that justice and truth can stand upright in this country,” Tifa said at the East Jakarta District Court on Thursday (23/7).

“And beyond that, all of this is the will of Allah SWT,” she continued.

Tifa asserted that the interim ruling further strengthens her resolve to fight for the truth, particularly regarding an issue she believes has become a burden for the entire Indonesian nation, namely the authenticity of Jokowi’s diploma.

“So that what? So that going forward we need not encounter this problem again with future presidents and officials,” she said.

Tifa’s colleague, who has also been prosecuted in a similar case, KMRT Roy Suryo, expressed delight at the judges’ interim ruling.

“Today, Thursday, 23 July 2026, Allah has provided a way forward, Allah has given us a very good step, and has guided the panel of judges of the East Jakarta District Court and all its officers to reach the best decision. The interim ruling for my friend, Doctor Tifauziah Tyassuma. Extraordinary. Allahu Akbar!” Roy said.

According to him, this interim ruling could serve as jurisprudence for his own case.

“This case’s lawsuit is the same as the one I received, yes. The process is the same, the charges are the same, so, God willing, if the law is indeed straight, this will not only be a precedent, but jurisprudence. So, the ruling for Doctor Tifauziah Tyassuma must later also apply to my case,” Roy said.

“Although I still have to stand trial first, then we will file the same objection,” he added.

The panel of judges at the East Jakarta District Court granted the objection, or exception, filed by Doctor Tifa as the defendant in the case concerning allegations that the seventh President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, held a fake diploma.

“Ruling: declares that the objection from the defendant’s legal team is accepted,” said presiding judge Christina Endarwati as she read out the interim verdict at the East Jakarta District Court on Thursday (23/7).

The judges declared that the indictment filed by the Public Prosecutor in case number 301/Pid.Sus/2026/PN Jkt.Tim, in the name of defendant Tifauziah Tyassuma, was not carefully drafted and was therefore legally void.

As a result, the examination of the case cannot proceed to the evidentiary stage.

The case is being examined and tried by presiding judge Christina Endarwati, with panel members Rudi Rafli Siregar and Mathilda Chrystina Katarina.
