DPR's Sufmi Dasco Ensures Commission VI Will Oversee Telkom Group Workers' Agreement

Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, accompanied by Commission VI Chairman Anggia Ermarini and Deputy Chairman Andre Rosiade, received representatives of the Telkom Indonesia Workers Union (Sekar Telkom) at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday, 23 July 2026. The meeting aimed to hear aspirations regarding the ongoing streamlining process within the Telkom Group.

This meeting was a follow-up to a series of previous engagements, including a Hearing Session (RDP) and coordination meetings between Sekar Telkom, Commission VI, the Danantara sovereign wealth fund, and Telkom’s Board of Directors. The discussions focused on finding solutions that protect workers’ rights amid the company’s transformation process.

Under the direction of Sufmi Dasco, Commission VI facilitated a series of communications between Sekar Telkom, Danantara, and Telkom’s Board of Directors over several weeks. Through this dialogue, the three parties agreed on several key points: the streamlining process will not result in any layoffs; all employees, regardless of their new assignments, will retain their status as Telkom Group employees and receive the same incentives and benefits; some employees will be placed in a new business unit called Telkom Enterprise with a guarantee of no layoffs even if the unit does not develop as planned; and the rights of employees in subsidiaries that are no longer operating, including PT PINS Indonesia, remain protected through guaranteed salary continuity from Telkom and Danantara.

Commission VI Deputy Chairman Andre Rosiade explained that this facilitation was carried out following the DPR leadership’s directive to resolve Sekar Telkom’s complaints through dialogue. “We were asked by the DPR leadership, Mr Dasco, to resolve the complaints from our friends at Sekar Telkom. Alhamdulillah, after a process lasting several weeks, all issues have been resolved together,” Andre stated.

Commission VI Chairman Anggia Ermarini emphasised that the commission will continue to oversee the implementation of the agreement in stages to ensure the process runs smoothly without harming workers or hindering Telkom Group’s future transformation. Meanwhile, Sekar Telkom Chairman Nasri expressed gratitude for the dialogue facilitation provided by the DPR leadership and Commission VI. According to Nasri, certainty regarding their status as state-owned enterprise employees is the primary aspiration that Telkom workers and its subsidiaries, including PINS, have been fighting for. “In essence, we as employees want certainty about our status as BUMN employees. Alhamdulillah, today there are several solutions, and the implementation stages will be discussed further in stages with the BUMN and Danantara,” Nasri said. He also appreciated Sufmi Dasco and the leaders of Commission VI, Anggia Ermarini and Andre Rosiade, for their commitment to overseeing every stage of the agreement’s implementation until completion. Through this dialogue, the DPR seeks to ensure that the Telkom Group streamlining policy provides certainty for workers while supporting the company’s transformation into a stronger and more competitive digital strategic holding.
