Jakarta (ANTARA) - The House of Representatives’ Legislation Body (Baleg) has agreed to the establishment of the Indonesia One Data Agency (BSDI) during discussions on the Single Data Indonesia Bill (RUU SDI). Baleg Chairman Bob Hasan, speaking at the parliamentary complex in Jakarta on Wednesday, stated that BSDI will be tasked with managing the governance of Single Data Indonesia at the national level. “In the general provisions, it has been formulated that BSDI is an institution acting as the national data guardian and has the authority to manage the national data governance system,” he said. He explained that the implementation of Single Data Indonesia will be carried out in a centralised, planned, and integrated manner through the establishment of data standards, metadata, and reference codes. “This data can also be accessed and shared while ensuring security, confidentiality, and respecting the authority of data producers,” he added. Under the SDI Bill, data organisers—including BSDI, data supervisors, data producers, data guardians, and data users—will carry out their duties according to their respective authorities in a coordinative manner. “This body is coordinative, normative, and facilitative in nature,” he stated. According to him, the data produced through Single Data Indonesia is expected to serve as the primary reference in national development planning. BSDI will also act as the coordinator for the implementation of Single Data Indonesia and will be led by a head of agency.
