Jakarta (ANTARA) - The House of Representatives’ Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Agency (BKSAP DPR RI) has condemned various Israeli military actions in several Middle Eastern countries that have caused loss of life and risk igniting a third world war.

Indonesia’s parliamentary stance was conveyed by BKSAP DPR RI Chairman Syahrul Aidi at the 152nd Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) General Assembly held in Istanbul, Turkey, attended by representatives from 150 countries.

“We from BKSAP DPR convey a firm stance on Israel’s actions in the Middle East,” said Syahrul in a statement received in Jakarta on Saturday.

BKSAP DPR RI participated in the 152nd Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) General Assembly, which took place from 15 to 19 April 2026.

In the international forum, Syahrul conveyed that the Indonesian Parliament is highlighting the situation in the Middle East due to Israel’s actions, including one of the most concerning being Israel’s shooting death of three TNI soldiers as members of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).

“One of the most highlighted issues is Israel’s action in shooting dead three TNI soldiers as UN peacekeeping forces in Lebanon or UNIFIL. This action is beyond bounds as it attacks peacekeeping forces,” he stated.

Not only that, BKSAP DPR RI also strongly condemned Israel’s military actions in Palestine.

According to him, Israel continues to bomb Gaza. The latest development is the Israeli government arming Jewish civilians and also enacting a law that legalises the killing of Palestinian civilians and prisoners.

“Israel has become a parasite to us all. It destroys the geopolitical order, economy, and global peace. We call on all countries to unite in pressuring Israel to avoid opening the door to a third world war,” Syahrul emphasised.
