DPR's Baleg to Invite YLBHI and JALA PRT to Discuss the PPRT Bill Tomorrow
The Legislation Board (Baleg) of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) continues drafting the PPRT Bill, including absorbing public aspirations. It is planned that Baleg DPR will invite several institutions and organisations that represent domestic workers to receive input on the bill. ‘Indeed, we at Baleg will continue discussions on drafting the PPRT Bill. While refining the draft, we also hold hearings and absorb public aspirations,’ Deputy Chair Ahmad Doli Kurnia said when contacted on Wednesday (4 March 2026). Doli said the aspiration absorption is intended to ensure the PPRT Bill truly represents the interests of the people. ‘All of this is to strengthen meaningful participation so that the law will truly represent all stakeholder and public interests,’ he said. He added that Baleg DPR would continue absorbing input on 5 March tomorrow. Several institutions and organisations will be invited to provide input on the PPRT Bill. ‘Among those we will invite tomorrow are representatives from organisations such as the Chair of Komnas Perempuan, the Chair of the Indonesian Legal Aid Foundation (YLBHI), the Coordinator of the National Network for Advocacy of Domestic Workers (JALA PRT), the Chair of the Jakarta Feminist Coalition (Jakarta Feminist), the Chair of the Domestic Workers’ Union (SPRT) Sapulidi, and so on,’ he added.
