DPR's Baleg Accelerates Indonesia One Data Bill to Drinking Water and Sanitation Bill
A plenary meeting chaired directly by the Chairman of the DPR’s Legislation Body, Bob Hasan, took place in the Baleg meeting room at the DPR RI in Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday (12 May 2026). He stated that one of the bills that Baleg DPR will rush to discuss is the Indonesia One Data Bill.
“So there are several bills that are priorities, from a to i, I think this is the utmost priority that we must complete immediately, and in the midst of that, there is also the Indonesia One Data Bill that we must rush to complete because the Indonesia One Data is indeed very much needed as a single centre for national development planning,” said Bob during the meeting.
The meeting for the Indonesia One Data Bill is scheduled to start on Wednesday, 13 May 2026. Bob said there will be a working committee meeting for drafting the Indonesia One Data Bill.
Then, Bob mentioned that Baleg DPR will also accelerate the discussion of the Drinking Water and Sanitation Management Bill. According to him, many parties have questioned that bill.
“Now, the Drinking Water Management is important; if possible, we should even speed up the drafting of the Drinking Water and Sanitation Management Bill; many people have called us about this,” said Bob.
Meanwhile, Bob conveyed that the Oil and Gas Bill will be temporarily postponed. He said that consideration from the Deputy Chairman of Baleg DPR, Ahmad Doli Kurnia, is needed regarding this bill.
“Regarding the harmonisation of the Oil and Gas Bill. For now, we will postpone it; there will be considerations, especially from Mr Doli who will harmonise the oil and gas matter; we have scheduled to postpone it,” stated Bob.
Then, Bob questioned whether the schedule for meetings discussing the bills that have been discussed can be approved. The Baleg DPR forum agreed.
“After we have heard the responses and inputs from Baleg together, next I request approval on whether the schedule for Baleg meetings during the fifth session of the 2025-2026 year can be approved?” asked Bob.
“Agreed,” replied the forum.
