Bandung (ANTARA) - West Java DPRD Chairman Buky Wibawa has assessed that the 81st Anniversary of West Java Province is a momentum for strengthening a bureaucracy that is adaptive, has integrity, and is oriented towards public services.

He said that the increasing age of West Java should be a momentum to strengthen governance so that development can provide more tangible benefits for the community.

“At the age of 81, we want the bureaucracy to be increasingly clean, open, and adaptive, so that the benefits of development are truly felt by the community,” said Buky in a statement received in Bandung on Friday.

According to him, the implementation of the principles of good and clean governance needs to continue to be strengthened, among others through the use of technology, innovation in public services, and increased public participation.

Buky assessed that the bureaucracy is not only required to work administratively, but must also be able to adapt to the evolving needs of the community.

“Entering the age of 81, West Java must continue to strengthen a clean and adaptive bureaucracy. Strengthening integrity, utilising technology, innovation, and active community involvement are key to ensuring development runs optimally,” he said.

In addition to strengthening governance, he emphasised the importance of equitable development priorities across all regions of West Java.

According to him, infrastructure development and improving the quality of public services need to go hand in hand with community economic empowerment programmes.

He assessed that this step is important to address a number of issues still faced by West Java, especially poverty and unemployment.

“The government needs to balance priorities. Physical development and services must be accompanied by community empowerment to effectively address poverty and unemployment,” he said.
