DPRD Urges BKD to Immediately Fill 21 Vacant Positions in NTB Provincial Government
A total of 21 echelon II to echelon IV positions within the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Provincial Government remain vacant. The NTB DPRD is urging the Regional Civil Service Agency (BKD) to immediately fill these vacant positions.
Chairman of Commission I of the NTB DPRD, Moh Akri, said the large number of vacant positions must be filled immediately, as no regional apparatus organisation (OPD) in NTB has yet achieved a performance target above 90 percent. One of these is the position of director of HL Manambai Abdulkadir Hospital.
“The director of Manambai Hospital is also vacant. Because it received a grade B, it must be an echelon II B position. So what is needed now is two echelon II officials, including the position of head of the NTB Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) left by the late Lalu Herman Mahaputra, also known as dr Jack,” said Akri on Monday (31/8/2026).
Akri detailed that the 21 vacant positions consist of 2 echelon II officials, 11 echelon III officials, and 8 echelon IV officials. According to him, the 11 vacant echelon III positions are spread across almost all OPDs of the NTB Provincial Government, down to the level of school principals.
“We request that all these vacant positions be filled immediately in accordance with proportionality,” he added.
The PPP politician also asked the NTB BKD to implement a meritocracy system in the process of filling positions. Based on the NTB DPRD’s evaluation, he continued, previous appointments were often not in line with competence.
Akri encouraged the recruitment scheme to be processed quickly by implementing talent management, in accordance with the direction of NTB Governor Lalu Muhamad Iqbal. The NTB DPRD has set a deadline for all vacant seats to be filled by the end of September 2026 at the latest.
“By the end of September, at the minimum, they should be filled. Because it affects performance. Acting officials cannot make full policy decisions, so it must be completed,” he added.
Akri then highlighted the suboptimal performance of OPDs over the past six months. He considered a comprehensive evaluation of this matter important, especially as the discussion of the Revised Regional Budget (APBD Perubahan) approaches. According to him, the realisation progress of each OPD’s programmes currently averages only 80-90 percent.
“I think in the last six months there have been pluses and minuses. In terms of public service performance, monitoring will be carried out directly by the governor, while we in the council evaluate almost all OPDs based on their performance realisation,” concluded Akri.
